Dear ,

As all I can hear is the shouting of CSgts on the Parade square it must mean that the Juniors are practising for their Passing off the Square on Friday - I am sure they are all looking forward to a well earned Long Leave Weekend.  We have the Army Cross-Country Championships taking place today so lots of people currently limbering up!  A Professionally Qualified Officers(PQO) course has just begun which is a four week course for our army Doctors, Nurses, Padres, Dentists and Lawyers - more details of their course and their commissioning lists will be going into the next Wishstream.  We also have a Potential Officers visit on at the moment which is a two day visit for students between the age of 16 and 18 to get an insight into joining the army as an Officer - I can see 3 running by trying to use their radio!  We have just received the new limited edition Pavlenko postcards of the Royal Group (see below) which have the Foundation Logo on the reverse - if you would like to purchase any please let us know.

Don't forget to sign up to the Foundation Dinner Night on Sat 17 May as places are going fast!

We are still getting phone calls and emails about our excellent speaker last night - Major General Simon Mayall who gave a very thought provoking talk - please see below for more details.

Leadership Encounter Evening - Review

Well with 82 seated in the Model Room for General Mayall's talk (of varying ages and disciplines)- he certainly had his work cut out for him.  It was a fantastic talk - extremely honest and an amazing insight into the higher echelons of the MOD and its workings.  The questions at the end were very probing which the General answered with sincerity and clarity. He has very kindly agreed to write an article on his presentation for the next edition of the Wishstream - so I am sure that many will look forward to that.  The talk was followed by a lively curry where the discussions and questions continued.  We were very pleaesed to welcome both the Woking Branch of the Air Crew Association and students from Wellington College.

Articles for The Wishstream - The Journal of the Sandhurst Foundation

We are now starting the commissioning process for the 2009 edition of the Wishstream and from some of the returned proformas it is clear that many readers would like to hear more about the early conditions at RMAS between 1947 and 1955 - what the drill was like, day to day life of an Officer Cadet etc.  If anybody feels they would like to put some memories down please email them to Jules  - it does not have to be a complete article - we could make up half a page of short memories - any photographs would be excellent.
