Dear ,

Well here we are with Spring finally in the air - the Snrs have just come back from a very successful Final Exercise in Cyprus (a few tans have been spotted) and they are now spending all their time on the Drill Square preparing for next week's Sovereign's Parade, which of course The Queen will be taking.  The Jnrs are just pleased that they aren't going to be Jnrs for much longer and the Inters are soon to be swaggering Snrs!

Leadership Encounter - Tues 16 May.  Lieutenant General Robin Brims will be speaking on 'Iraq and Leadership'.  General Robin was the Senior British Military Representative in Iraq from April - October 2005.  He is currently Commander Field Army.  Please click >>here  for more details.  Please click >>here to attend.  We are very priviledged to have such a distinguished military speaker coming and hope that many of you will be able to attend.

Events at the Academy

Music on Fire - Warning Order.  After last year's incredible Music on Fire event held here at the Academy the organisers are providing us with another spectacular from 22 - 24 Sept.  Tickets through Ticket Master (www.ticketmaster.co.uk) are now on sale.  Unfortunately the ABF have been unable to give any reductions on tickets this year even to RMAS Staff.  The ticket price on line is £27.50 or £38.25 for a Premium Tickets with Free Programme and exclusive area.   Doors open at 1600 and the event starts at 1930.  Please put these dates in your diary for a truely amazing evening!

Members First Annual Dinner Night - Saturday 10 June.  We now have over 80 attending this function and we hope this will rise to 100.  We are very pleased to announce that Keith Simpson MP will be giving the after Dinner speech.  He is well known for his extremely humerous anecdotal sketches from his time in the Army. Several people are arranging Renion tables and many others are bringing family and guests.  Is anyone from Troop No 47 attending?  If so please let the Foundation know as there are two colonials who would like to join you!  Already an impressive raffle prize draw and auction has been put together and the Academy Band will be playing for us.  Please click >>here for further details. Please click >>here to sign up.

Heritage Day - Sunday 18 June from 1100hrs to 1700hrs.  The purpose of the Heritage Day is to allow members of the public to enjoy the architectural, historical and cultural aspects of the Academy.  This will be achieved through a series of activities and training stands culminating in a Beating Retreat.  Members do not need to sign up just simply attend!

Upgrade on Website - Finally it has been done!  You can now book in as many guests as you would like to when applying to attend a function - we hope this will speed things up for you.  We also have a 'reply system' in place that will allow you to receive a receipt email from us confirming that we have noted your request to attend an event and let you know any additional information - again we hope this will give you confidence that your email arrived with us and you are on the list!!

Team Change It is with regret that we are to lose Zoe, our Membership Secretary at the end of May but we are thrilled that she is going on Maternity leave.  Our new Membership Secretary will be Sandra Ross.  Sandra has just finished working for the Army Familiies Federation and has had a lot of previous experience in Advertising - so we are looking forward to new ideas on how to promote The Foundation and keep the membership numbers increasing.
